Cleveland’s culinary scene is booming and chefs use locally grown ingredients to create simple, yet innovative dining experiences. You can find Asian influences, tasty brewery offerings and quality hotel restaurants. Something for everyone.
Every week or so we will update this post with new places we’ve tried and with cuisine stemming from different cultures. Stay tuned!
Let’s start with Italian…
Marotta’s is a rustic Italian restaurant featuring the authentic regional cuisine and unique wines of Italy. Marotta’s has been a beloved restaurant on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights since 2000, expect delectable pastas such as gnocchi with sausage and roasted red peppers in a tomato cream sauce, plus some of the best pizzas in town.
Aldo’s
Opened more than two decades ago by the late Aldo Zappa and family, it’s so authentic it still doesn’t have a website. Besides the all time classics, you can taste some of the best seafood in town. Very unassuming from the outside, you’ll better make a reservation if you want to be sure to be able to dine.
Bruno’s
“We truly believe in the honored traditions of our heritage. Your dining experience will be cozy and intimate, with each dish freshly prepared just for you – from the pasta and sauces to the meat and seafood. Food is a serious part of our culture and we take the time necessary to ensure it’s traditionally cooked, fresh and delicious.” Per our experience, they really take the entire food and eating experience seriously.
Giovanni’s
Established in 1976, Ristorante Giovanni’s is the sophisticated creation of Carl Quagliata. Through the years it has evolved and separated itself from a purely Italian restaurant, growing into a more international cuisine but with its roots firmly in the Italian tradition.
Bar Cento
Steeped in tradition and crafted for the future. Three distinct concepts blended together to create a dynamic restaurant, bar, and event space as the backdrop for your next outing. In this specific instance, we fear real Italians would not be impressed with the place. On the other side, if you are open to something different and very far from tradition, you’ve find the right place.
Cibreo’s
Located in the heart of Cleveland’s PlayhouseSquare, Cibréo Italian Kitchen is a Tuscan-themed restaurant serving authentic Italian lunches and dinners. We cannot say anything bad about the food or the place, the quality is evident, what we found missing is the “ambient”, the feeling of Italian traditions.
Ok, this is it for this week.
We hope you enjoyed our post and will be back next week for some Asian cuisine!
